There is art for every bidding budget, from student-made notecards to functional pottery and paintings.  Attendees are encouraged to bring five food items for a local food shelf. In the spirit of Art Madness, you can help create a sculpture with the donated food items.

THE BIRDS ARE BACK | Flamingos
when : Fall 2012
where : Your front yard?

Has everything gone to the birds in these times of budget cuts?

Eastview Community Foundation began a new and creative fundraising effort in September 2010 and 2011, using fabulous flamingos to generate donations for the foundation.

For four weeks, three flocks of flamingos went visiting each night.  The pink birds, along with a "You've been FLAMINGOed — Courtesy of Eastview Community Foundation!" sign, were placed in the yards of three unsuspecting families. A donation slip and information about EVCF was tied to the front doors, along with a phone number in case the household did not wish to contribute and wanted the flamingos picked up immediately.

Last year, every family visited contributed toward the cause and the phone never rang!  Each host family then had the opportunity to choose who would receive the flamingos next evening. The fundraiser ran from the first day of school through Homecoming.

We understand the birds plan to make a landing in the Eastview community the fall of 2011.  Watch for a flock in your neighborhood soon!
